Construction will begin in early January on a bridge maintenance project on westbound Route 360 over Aylett Creek in King William County. Westbound Route 360 traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work zone. The bridge is located in Aylett, approximately 500 feet east of Route 600 (West River Road). Eastbound Route 360 will not be affected by the bridge project. Westbound motorists should expect construction activity, equipment, and temporary traffic patterns through October 2015, when construction is scheduled to be complete. The project will replace the bridge’s superstructure, which includes installing new bridge beams, abutments, a new bridge deck, and adding new pavement and guardrail. A $925,458 contract was awarded to Bryant Contracting, Inc. of Toano. Motorists can call 511, visit 511Virginia.org or use VDOT’s 511Virginia free mobile app to find real-time traffic and work zone information in any area of the state.
