Consultation on the draft Rongoā Tikanga Standard Standards NZ are seeking feedback on a draft Rongoā Tikanga Standard that describes guidelines for the provision of safe and quality rongoā services. This standard provides clear requirements for service providers to attain, and guidance on how these can be achieved. This discussion document encourages and supports consistency of quality rongoā care, and the ongoing development of the rongoā workforce. It also provides information which: Sets out the rights and mana of tūroro Highlights management systems to assist rongoā providers Supports a traditional integrated rongoā Māori service Promotes health and safety Proposes a framework to validate, verify and endorse the integrity of the rongoā service You can obtain a copy of the document from the Standards New Zealand standards.co.nz website during the Public Comment phase from 1 July 2013. It is important to have your say. We are holding hui around the motu to discuss the standard. You can express your opinion or your organisations opinion in the following ways. 1. Obtain the Rongoā Tikanga Standard discussion document and public comment template from the Standards New Zealand website standards.co.nz Email your submission using the Public Comment template to: Craig Watkin Project Administrator Standards New Zealand Private Bag 2439 Wellington 6140 Or email to: [email protected]. 2. Attend a consultation hui. The hui will provide participants with an opportunity for their views to be recorded. The hui locations, dates and venues are as follows. Participants at the hui are required to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The closing date for the Public comment submissions is Friday 23 August 2013.
