Coppadge Media and Community Relations Director (302) 576-2104 Department of Parks and Recreation Host Wilmington RISE Park Clean-ups Parks and Recreation Looks to Work with Community Volunteers to Clean Four Parks in the City of Wilmington Rise with the Department of Parks and Recreation on Saturday, September 14, 2013, as they clean up Prices Run Park and kick off a series of Wilmington RISE park clean ups throughout the City of Wilmington. In an effort to clean our communities and help Wilmington RISE by making the City clean, safe and smart; the Department of Parks and Recreation will perform a detailed cleaning of Prices Run Park, Haynes Park, Helen Chambers Park and Judy Johnson Park. The Department of Parks and Recreation is looking for community members to volunteer and act as Rise ambassadors by helping clean up their community park. All volunteers will receive a Wilmington RISE t-shirt and a RISE wristband. The RISE campaign was created through the vision of Mayor Dennis P. Williams and his Administration to enrich and enhance the community of Wilmington through a hands-on approach that rests on three pillars: Clean, Safe and Smart. The designated clean up locations, dates and times are listed below: • Prices Run Park Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon • Haynes Park Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 9:00 a.m - 12:00 noon • Helen Chambers Park Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon • Judy Johnson Park Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon If you are interested in serving as a RISE Ambassador and volunteering for the Wilmington RISE park clean-ups please reply by Friday, September 13th.
