Contact Person Captain Jude Maurer 608-757-7944 Date: 09-20-14 Case # SO14051406 Janesville Man Arrested for 5th Offense OWI On 09-20-14 at approximately 12:27 am, Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office along with Officers from the Edgerton Police Department were dispatched to Carl’s Shell Gas Station in Newville for a report of a subject slumped over the wheel in the parking lot. When the officers arrived, they located the vehicle and made contact with the subject inside. Deputies were able to detect the odor of intoxicants coming from the driver who was identified as Michael L. Drought, 48 years-old from Janesville. Deputies requested that Drought complete field sobriety tests and at the conclusion of these tests, arrested Drought for Operating While Intoxicated 5th Offense. Drought was transported to the Rock County Jail where he is being held pending his initial appearance in court on 09-22-14.
