Contact between sagely legal luminary and RSS Chief Justice V.r. Krishna Iyer corresponds with Param Poojaniya Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh concerning Sri. L.K. Advani’s recent resignation from all party posts and subsequent withdrawal of the same. Jce. Iyer, in a rare gesture, expresses his wish to exchange views of national significance with Sangh. Mohanji, in his modest reply, expresses his wish to meet Jce. Iyer during his next Kerala tour. The following are the letters of both personalities par excellence. It is very significant because it is a first incident of that sort. Jce. V.R. Krishna Iyer’s letter to Sri. Mohanji Bhagavath June 18, 2013 My dear Mohan Bhagwat, I do not know you personally or politically nor am I in harmony with the ideology of the RSS. But I appreciate their nationalism and passionate patriotism with a vision for India’s cultural heritage. The Congress, since Nehru’s departure has become a political casualty and there is no party which represents values of the Preamble to the Constitution. Save a Siddhartha, a Vivekananda or a Gandhi. You have played the role of a great statesman in bringing about a rapprochement between Modi and Advani and thus resolved a national crisis. Looking at the political scene with an objective vision I wrote a letter to Modi and another one to Advani. My letter to Advani is in the spirit in which you moved to bring about the settlement. Our nation must be united if it is to survive. Our politics as declared by the Constitution has made it a socialist, secular democracy. Indian integrity as a single fraternity has a future only if the ideas and ideology of Modi and Advani together lead the country as ‘Purna Swaraj’ not as a colony under imperial Britain or dollar global hegemony. I wrote a letter to Veerendrakumar. CMD of Mathrubhumi, a national daily, a copy of which I am enclosing for your perusal. This letter was written before Advani’s withdrawal of resignation. I fully agree with last two sentences of your letter to me. I will try to meet you during my tour of those parts of Bharat so a dialogue may happen which will be definitely an opportunity which will enlighten me and may contribute towards bringing about a harmonious networking of the sajjanashakti for achievement of a common goal i.e.Vishvaguru Bharat.
