Contemplating my small family’s future has been top of my agenda - TopicsExpress

Contemplating my small family’s future has been top of my agenda in recent weeks and this has led me to thoughts of the past. I got my first mortgage at the age of 18. After two marriages and divorces, and with only a couple of years’ break, I have been a home owner ever since. It hasn’t always been easy making those payments and paying those bills. Neither of us has ever been high earners and we have taken on many jobs that we would have preferred not to over the years. We moved into our current house almost 14 years ago and since then we’ve had an extension built, doubling the size of our house (Mr H taking on quite a lot of the work to keep costs down), tamed (ish) over an acre of land, Mr H has built a studio, a workshop, a potting shed and chicken enclosure. These things just for starters! I’m proud to say that we achieved the majority of this by hard work and good choices. In fact, I’m just proud. Of us. Of our lovely house. We’re not lucky. We deserve it!!!
