Contentment. In dappled light and shaded dell In woodland fair I long to dwell. A bluebell carpet for my feet A kind old oak in which to sleep. I’d feast on fruit and fungi too And just a little nettle stew. I’d clothe myself in forest green And go my way and not be seen. I’d bathe in streams sun sparkling clear. Converse with creatures without fear. On beauty I would meditate And learn to live in simple state. Each season I would call my friend And be content until my end. Contentment © Sharon Richards 2013
