Qualities of a leader to be access able and sociable. - He should have official and unofficial contact with the people, official one is obligatory and the -unofficial one will be maintained if the leader considers it o be useful. - Every leader as a rule should work directly with a maximum of 15 persons according to socio psychological finding of cause and effect. - If the initiative for the working relation should be shared both by the leaders and the workers, the initiative for the informal contact should belong mostly to the leader, since he shouldn’t wait for the workers to come to him. - Informal contact of a leader with the workers creates excellent psychological working climate. - Contact between the leader and the worker is a sign of respect for the workers, and it enhances their confidence in the leadership. - Informal contact enables the leader to study the necessities and the attitude of the people. 5- The most important thing for the leader in contacting people are… - To know how to the people, - To be able to select conversation topic, - To be competent in issues he is going to rise, - Have capacity of listening to others, - Logically express oneself, - Select power word depending on the cultural level, and psychological state of the ones he is talking to. All these affect the people positively and make contact favorable. 6- Respect for the people. For maintaining optimal relation with the people, the leader should appreciate their experience and dignify them. - The key for further contact, starts from the first encounter, - The one meets his visitor determines relations, b/s this determines the further conversation, - Greeting and facial expression repels or attract, reflecting negative or positive attitude, - A leader should encourage innovation, congratulate and be happy with the success of the working colleagues, - On family feasts, and personal occasions it is good to greet workers and colleagues, - Congratulation and greeting should be in sprit of mutual respect, friendship and concern for each other, - Interrupting other people while they are talking, to be intolerant with others, - shouting at the people and to think of oneself as an immaculate one is completely detaching oneself from the people and hindering success of their work. 7- Responsiveness and helpfulness… will continue next 27/06 2014 B.G
