Continuing her efforts to strengthen the safety of New Hampshire’s communities and schools through Media Power Youth’s media literacy program, Governor Maggie Hassan today announced that registration is open for three additional trainings in the public-private initiative aimed at helping reduce and prevent youth violence. The trainings are scheduled for Friday, September 19, in Plymouth at Whole Village Family Resource Center; Friday, November 7, at Manchester Community College; and Monday, March 16, 2015, in Gorham at North Country Education Services. “Media Power Youth is an evidenced-based approach that is making schools and communities across the state safer by helping parents, educators and young people understand medias role in influencing behavior,” Governor Hassan said. “Ensuring the safety of our young people, our schools and our communities is government’s most important responsibility, and with schools and districts representing more than 200 communities in New Hampshire involved in the public-private initiative, Media Power Youth is helping maintain our status as one of the safest state’s in the nation.”
