Continuing in our Unmasked Series looking at the second gift of Grace - Repentance and how that can help us live without a mask. So far we have talked about the problem of wearing masks and how we can through Gods grace live without a mask on then we talked about the 2 choices of focus we face in our relationship with God - to strive to please God or to trust God and how striving to please God is all about my efforts and me rather than trusting God that is all about who He is and what He can do in my life. Last week we talked about the first gift of Grace - Love and how when we unmask and admit our needs and desire to be loved we receive love through the meeting of our needs by God and others and how that will lead to fulfillment so that we love others as well. Loving this series so far! Our spiritual lives are so much easier when they are based on shoe God is rather than my striving! True peace reigns when we quit trying to be God in our lives and let God fulfill His role! Following are the bible passages we are looking into tomorrow. 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NIV) 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. Isaiah 64:6 (NIV) 6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Acts 3:19 (NLT) 19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. 1 John 1:7-10 (NLT) 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. Titus 3:4-6 (NLT) 4 But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Romans 2:4 (NIV) 4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?
