Continuing in our quest to play through FF games weve lost touch with over the winter, Daniel and I started XII the other night and I am loving every second of it. We barely scratched the surface (less than 2 hours in) and Im drinking it all in. The music from the first area outside of town is fantastic. Theres a very grand and triumphant feel to it but also portions of much smaller, sort of playful feeling moments which to my mind perfectly encapsulates the moment. Its your first time out in the world, youre flush with the excitement of the freedom and the danger... but it really is a baby step, you just dont feel like it is at the time. Its easy to forget that more seasoned adventurers would look at this scene with a mixture of nostalgia and a kind of aww, how cute.
