Continuing on in 1st Timothy chapter 4. Paul is given instruction - TopicsExpress

Continuing on in 1st Timothy chapter 4. Paul is given instruction to Timothy whom he left in charge at the church in Ephesus. As always it relates to us today. God is always the same and he uses Paul to bring his word to us throughout these letters in the New Testament. Lets ask a word of wisdom from our Father as we read. 4:1 Now the spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their concience seared with a hot iron; These things and worse are going on today. All you gotta do is look around. People actually think they serve the Lord but have no idea what his word says. They had rather have their ears tickled than hear the truth of Gods word. 3. Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4. For every creature of God is good and nothing to be confused if it is received with thanksgiving. 5. For it is sanctified by the word of God in prayer. Now Paul is talking about spiritual marriage to the Lord and spiritual food given by them that know and understand. They refuse to hear the meat. They wont choke on it because they wont even put it in their mouth and chew. Having given heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. They fill up on that and leave out the truth, the meat of Gods word. This is not saying you can pray over any animal and make it clean. A scavenger is always going to be a scavenger. This is symbolic for spiritual food. 6. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. Here it confirms that the nourishment spoken of in this chapter is the word of God! 7. But refuse profane and old wives fables, and excercise thyself rather unto goodness Do not listen to fairy tales like a snake in the garden with an apple or fly away doctrines that are not biblical! 8. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of life that now is and that which is to come. This will carry you over into the next age. It is a promise! 9. Which is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust the living God, who is the savior of all men , specially of those that believe. It is a very strait and very narrow path to follow the Lord. Ive never ever read anything in this book that says its easy. In fact it says the opposite. So why choose to follow him. Because like it said in verse 8. We have the promise of life. Everlasting! 11. These things command and teach. 12. Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Paul telling Timothy that he must conduct himself accordingly in all things. People are watching and he already has his youth against him as a leader. He is saying dont give them any reason not to like and listen to him. It applies to all once again! 13. Till I come , give attendance to reading, to exhortion, to doctrine. (Stick with the word ) 14. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15. Meditate upon those things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. Stick with Gods truth and take care of yourself. You will do well! ~In love sister Misty~
