Continuing our look back at some our favourite purveyors over the soon-to-be-ten years of business, we couldnt imagine it without Taliaferro Farm. Pete Taliaferro is soon to start up his CSA for the season and this week we picked up our first order of Mesclun. Beautiful tender, vibrant and delicate greens, grown, washed and carefully dried these are tossed in our signature Shallot Vinaigrette and accompany our Sandwiches, the Potato Toussaint Tart, Frittata, or you can just enjoy a big pile of them in all their glory or with some crumbled Ewes Blue and sliced toasted almonds. I particularly love when I bite into a baby mustard green. Throughout the growing season well have asparagus, tomatoes, summer and winter squashes, potatoes, peas, beans, herbs, melons and more from this certified organic farm just down at the end of Plains Road. Theres a farm stand with great cheese, local meats, honey and bread. Ten years of superior fresh local produce a few minutes away. We are very lucky to live and work here.
