Continuing to arm the already militarized police state USA, #Duluth is the latest to purchase military equipment/weaponry for use against its civilian population. This is a rhetorical question of course, but one that begs pondering. WHY, does the United States government deem it necessary to provide these expensive, resource laden materials to law enforcement, for mere pennies on the dollar? The total cost for the vehicle, valued at $733,000, was just $4,500. “The truly remarkable thing is that we got it here for the cost of transporting it here,” Police Chief Charles LaGesse said. The vehicle has just 6,200 miles on it and the engine is clean, as if someone had replaced it, he said. The vehicle was provided as part of a Defense Department reutilization program that provides military equipment for use by law enforcement agencies. “As these vehicles are coming out of the Middle Eastern theaters, they’re becoming increasingly available,” LaGesse said.
