Continuously occupy and harass them, while you hide your own - TopicsExpress

Continuously occupy and harass them, while you hide your own structures, while you are strong and feign inability: Sun Tzu, one of the most famous but ancient writers in the field of strategy, said: “He [the general] reduces the feudal lords to submission by causing them harm,” on the one hand. Moreover, he states the following: “He wears them down by keeping them constantly occupied.” Keeping a person or a group constantly occupied might also mean to constantly harass them, what is also recommended in Sun Tzu’s book at another location. These two statements are characteristic for Sun Tzu’s ideas. They provide also deep insights into the art of war only by using a few words. Although Sun Tzu often tends to provide information on a not superficial layer, i.e. the content reveals itself only after intense studies, these two statements are clear, short, and concise. This is an advantage because few words express essential insights. On the other hand, it is a disadvantage because the opportunities of multilevel narration are not exploited, but both directions are worthwhile in some ways, while they are in any way entertaining, too. Finally, keeping an enemy constantly occupied might also mean to lure him with bait or some gain (unspecified and vague most favourably), to steer his decisions and provoke him to move into the right direction, i.e. towards ruin, after a long and exhaustive walk, a walk through the darkest places on earth in order to express it a bit metaphorically. That simple it is. That simple war is if you understand it. That simple you exhaust a person, let them make mistakes and exploit this. That simple. “You have got your reputation baby I have got mine…”
