Contractors will begin slurry seal work Sept. 22 on several streets in east Neosho. Barring inclement weather, the project should be completed by Sept. 30. Streets on the list for improvements from Sept. 22 through Sept. 29 include Garland Douglas Drive (2,500 feet); Evelyn Place (525 feet); Phylis Place (525 feet); Larry Place (525 feet); John Place (525 feet); Terry Place (525 feet); Barton Place (1,700 feet); Cash Street; from South Street to Delaware Street (270 feet); Delaware Street (2,200 feet); Joplin Street (1,780 feet); Pearl Street (1,780 feet); Cherry Street (1,120 feet); Park Street (1,600 feet); Jackson Avenue (600 feet); Wilson Avenue (920 feet); Riverside (2,200 feet); Stratford Place, from Freeman Road to Shartel Drive (2,400); Kentland Drive (1,500 feet); Melody Lane (1,500 feet); Shartel Drive (1,200 feet); Southeast Boulevard (1,400 feet); and Flowerbox Lane (1,525 feet). As the slurry seal takes about four hours to dry, detour signs will direct local traffic to temporary alternative parking locations. Streets near Benton Elementary will be done on the weekend so as not to interrupt school traffic. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during the process of these street improvements. If you have any questions, please call Neosho Public Works at 417-451-8071.
