Were a pretty tight group and tend to think of skydivers worldwide as family. Sorry for causing the confusion. With respect to media coverage of skydiving incidents, most of us have seen so much incorrect information reported for so long that you may find very few skydivers who are prepared to talk with the media. No disrespect intended, but after reading 100s of incident articles that include parachute failed, when 80% of them happened under a fully functional parachute, we get a little jaded. 7 highly trained professionals used all of their skills today to keep their passengers safe. None of them should be having to pay for a drink anytime soon. I am sorry to hear you feel that way about the media - thats the very reason I am trying so hard to speak to people involved, so we can get it right. I think I have sent messages to about 40 people in the skydive community and no- one has responded. Just really want to be able to share first-hand what it was like for the staff to react so quickly and save the customers. I think its a tough job for you guys in the sense that the things that we discuss and analyse when these incidents occur arent really understood outside of our own circle. Its the editing it into something that the general public will understand where it usually goes awry. Hope you find the story youre after.
