Cooking dinner and I almost set my kitchen on fire, my heart is still pounding. Turned on the broiler mode in the oven, placed the skewered chicken under the broiler, after 30 seconds opened the oven, the skewers ignited and the fire started to spread, I panicked and gave the loudest scream ever. My man thought I had a heart attack and he came running, smoke alarm beeped like crazy, I took the pan that was on fire and ran into the backyard, extinguished the fire by blowing air...So many things happened in just a matter of seconds. Thank God nothing serious happened! Moral of the story: Never place unsoaked skewers under the broiler (sometimes even the soaked ones ignite) and always keep a fire extinguisher in the house (Have to go for fire extinguisher shopping tomorrow). Just curious, would people scream like crazy during a heart attack??? Folks, be safe while cooking and dont let your kids play in the kitchen.
