Cool Dog Needs YOUR HELP! Please Read and Share! On June 28th, two vehicles armed with rescuers and supplies will be heading to a remote community in Northern Quebec with the sole purpose of saving dogs from the dire situation they face. These dogs are allowed to roam freely in their communities. Many are left to fend for themselves, for food and for shelter, from the harsh elements and from the dog culls. There are no vets. No one to help if a dog is hit by a vehicle or is attacked by other animals. Many animals are left to suffer from wounds and preventable diseases. Some will starve or simply not survive the harsh winters. Those that do survive do not usually survive for long as the main population control method in these areas are people armed with shotguns with a single purpose. Paid to kill. We are deeply honoured and excited that several like-minded and dedicated rescues are coming together in a collaborative effort to help as many dogs as possible on this mission. Rescue is only one component of the long term solution. Highly respected organizations like IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare) work hard, year after year, to bring vetting, spay/neuter clinics and education/support to the communities to help them create stable, healthy dog populations. However, rescue of the dogs that can be re-homed into loving homes is where we can help. And help we will. And we hope you will too. These are just some of the faces of the dogs that have been rescued and have become loving family members. There are so many more trying to survive and we want to bring help to those we can. To bring them into foster care, give them needed vetting and a chance for a safe, loving and happy future with an adoptive family.
