Cool Song I Heard Today - I got into The Beta Band the same way a lot of people did. In the movie High Fidelity, John Cusaks character is standing in his unusually crowded used record store and says I will now sell five copies of The Beta Band record and then puts it on. Simultaneously, all the hipsters digging through the crates start bobbing their heads to Dry The Rain. I then noticed my own head bobbing while watching the movie. These guys make pretty unusual songs, for the most part they feature very repetitive rhythmic sections that fold over each other making for a very trancelike groove. It probably doesnt look too good on paper but it works. Well, for me at least. Enjoy.
