Cool, but quiet weather conditions cover Colorado in the wake of the cold front that moved through on Monday. Skies will remain mostly clear through sunset, but the few high clouds overhead should provide us with another pretty orange and gold sky around 6 PM. Tonight will be a cold one once again as lows dip into the upper 20s to mid 30s in Denver and across the eastern plains. The immediate Denver Metro area should avoid a hard freeze, but eastern Larimer County, Weld County and the eastern portions of Adams and Arapahoe Counties are under a FREEZE WARNING from Midnight until 8 AM. Warmer air will move into Colorado on Wednesday. Highs in Denver will warm to near 70 degrees under sunny skies. The eastern plains will climb into the mid to upper 60s, while the mountains and western valleys have highs in the 50s to low 60s. Another cold front, although weaker than the last, will sweep across the state on Thursday. This front will bring some clouds and gusty northwest winds, but little moisture. Looking ahead to Halloween, it appears that the weather will be cool, but dry for trick-or-treaters! High temperatures should reach the upper 50s to low 60s in the Denver area. By late afternoon and early evening, temperatures will drop into the low 50s to the mid 40s. No precipitation is expected and the winds will not be strong Friday evening. Saturday will be sunny and pleasant with highs in the 50s in the mountains and mid 60s to low 70s at lower elevations. Our next chance for rain and snow and colder weather arrives with yet another cold front on Sunday. This front should bring a few inches of snow to the mountains and showers to lower elevations Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. Temperatures will be cooler Sunday through Tuesday of next week.
