Because we are approaching the week-end, the message on the Paterson Division of Health Cooling Info Hotline as to where to go to cool down for a couple of hours may not be appropriate, i.e., libraries and the senior center on 5th Avenue. However you can cool down while shopping at Center City Mall located at 301 Main Street, your local churches, movie theaters, restaurants, etc. Please share this information with family, friends, neighbors, etc. Steps to survive a hot spell: · A cool shower is an effective way to cool off. · Stay hydrated: be sure to drink lots of fluids, especially water and avoid caffeine. · Never leave children or pets in parked cars, even for brief periods of time!!! · Check on neighbors, family, and friends, especially our seniors, sick, or not able to take care of themselves without assistance and those who live alone. · Stay Safe and Enjoy the Summer Season!
