Cooly Rocks On News: 15 Days To Go! Well time is ticking away and things are starting to heat up here in the office so we just wanted to update you on some of the fabulous things that are set to impress at the festival this year! So grab your Cooly Rocks On To-Do List now and find a way to squeeze in a few more activities in to your week! The Shannons Show n Shine is now all but sold out. We do have some availability in our Surf Precinct at Kirra and also have a small number of spaces in Zone 7 which have become available due to some cancellations (you can call our office to book in this area). With 1300 cars locked in to our 9 Zones accross Coolangatta, Kirra and Tweed Heads the Shannons Show n Shine is set to be bigger and better than ever! Dont forget to also book in for your Shannons Super Cruise on either Saturday or Sunday night as these are getting very popular and looking to sell out very shortly. Bookings for the Sneak Peek Shown Shine (31st May & 1st June) are open. The Sneak Peek occurs the first weekend of Cooly Rocks On prior to Queens Birthday and is a great chance for people to have a taste-test of what is to come. Last year we had great success with this preview weekend and so are happy to bring it back again in 2014. For all of our car enthusiasts out there we are also very excited to announce our Garage Torque (formerly called Mens Garage) event happening at our Cooly Rocks On beachfront Marquee on Friday 6th June at 3pm. This is your chance to hear from our specials guests Charley Hutton (USA), Jim Richards, Katt Mercy (USA) and some of our favourite national motoring identities and experts as well on their experiences and what they enjoy about our festival. The Miss Cooly Rocks On Vintage Glamour Pageant is open to all women 18 and over for this year. This pageant was a sell-out in 2013 and is already capturing a lot of attention from all over Australia for 2014. With two show-stopping nights scheduled we will definitely be adding this to our MUST-SEE list. If you are thinking about entering be sure to get your entry sorted very soon as entries for the pageant close on 16th May 2014. Tickets are selling fast, especially for our special overseas acts Slim Jim Phantom (USA) and Jack Baymoore & The Bandits (Sweden) - sponsored by Pistonhead Kustom Lager. Once again the beachfront Marquee will be back bigger and better than ever and this year boasting an even bigger 15m x 10m dancefloor. Of course we have a full range of 2014 Cooly Rocks On merchandise which will be available from our Shop from the 30th May. We have Mens and Ladies Tees, Polo Shirts and Hoodies all available in black and red (white as well in selected styles). The collectors number plates, caps, keyrings and ponchos will also be back in stock and all make a fabulous memento. Jack Evans Boat Harbour will once again host a fabulous family precinct and this year includes the carnival which was previously housed down the Greenmount end of Marine Parade. Along with lots of activities for the kids we will have a stage pumping some sweet rockn roll sounds over the main weekend (7th & 8th June), over 200 beautiful classic cars and hot rods on display and some yummy food to enjoy from our carefully selected vendors as well. Jack Evans is certainly a precinct to tick off your list of Cooly Rocks On To-Dos! The Sharp Motor Group Street Parade is once again set to be a HUGE success with already 50+ clubs, businesses and individuals entered to impress us with their creative displays and high-energy performances. The parade runs from North Kirra to Coolangatta and starts at 9.30am sharp on Saturday 7th June. Once again we welcome back the 2014 Dance Championships (Rock n Roll, Rockabilly and Swing) happening on Sunday 8th June. Bop Jonny is back with his Cooly Rocks On Dance Workshops as well and has a fantastic schedule planned which is available from our website HERE. These workshops are a great way to learn some new moves whether you dance with a club, in the Cooly streets or just want to embrace the festival spirit and try something new! Well, thats about all we have time for at the moment, as you can imagine things are getting pretty busy, the Cooly Crew is expanding its volunteer workforce every day and the girls are doing an outstanding job here helping us in the office manning the emails and answering the phones - we just couldnt do it without them!
