Coordination Meeting on Two Rail Line Projects A coordination meeting was held on 22nd August 2014 at Kathmandu, in the presence of Secretary, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, other officials of Government of Nepal, representative of Indian Embassy and Ircon International Ltd, to review the progress and discuss the pending issues for the construction of Two Rail Line Projects, viz., Jogbani-Biratnagar and Jaynagar-Bijalpura-Bardibas. The meeting was fruitful and positive. The meeting was informed that 70% of the earthwork, bridgework has been completed on the available land in Jogbani- Biratnagar link and 30% in Jayanagar-Bijalpur link respectively. It was noted that there has been long delay due to non-availability of land in Biratnagar, Janakpur and Bardibas. Government of Nepal assured that the required land for the project free from all encumbrances in Biratnagar, including for the Biratnagar station, Janakpur and Bardibas will be acquired and handed over to IRCON at the earliest to expedite the work in both the sectors. Both sides agreed to provide all necessary support to expedite implementation of these important projects.
