Coordinator NYIT Responsibilities: The Center for Global Exchange seeks a Residential Coordinator. The Residential Coordinator will live in NYIT residence hall, oversee Chinese student population, act as residential advisor, and develop programming for this cohort; organize outreach events each Fall (via Distance Learning) to recruit Nanjing students; work with Nanjing visa consulting company and Nanjing campus to coordinate all application materials and students arrival; work with housing office, office of wellness services, student affairs, registrar, bursar, and faculty advisors and deans to coordinate students arrival; handle all Nanjing students registrations and assist with advising; responsible for all communications with Nanjing students prior to arrival and while in New York; assist with course schedules, questions about grades, transcripts, health insurance, housing, courses. etc.; develop programming throughout the year; assist with all New York and Nanjing commencement planning; coordinate International Orientation Week; act as office liaison with our Office of Student Affairs to help plan and implement international student orientation week; assist with planning weeks programming; NYIT Pre-College Experience Summer programs; assist with planning and developing program, including coordinating students; applications, payments, inquiries, housing, legal issues, transportation and flights; work with all involved offices to coordinate program and staffing; assist with planning all events and activities; run summer program activities, accompany students to events, including evenings and weekends; assist with Study Abroad in Nanjing program; assist director in recruiting students at information sessions and other events; work with Nanjing campus on students arrival, departures, visas, course selections; assist director with departure orientation; assist with all communication regarding students while on Study Abroad program. Candidate will represent Center for Global Exchange on Old Westbury campus and/or as required; Assist Director with other programs as assigned. Position will require 1-2 days per week on the Old Westbury campus, or as needed. Qualifications: Candidate must have prior experience in the field of international education or as an international student. Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of international students needs in higher education and possess superb communication skills with Chinese students. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word; candidate must be fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese; Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred and related experience required.
