Cop Caught Slamming A Pregnant Woman Stomach-First Onto The Pavement.... that was really necessary? The NYPD is investigating a video that shows an officer pushing a woman five months pregnant to the ground in order to handcuff her. According to the New York Daily News, officers were arresting 17-year-old Jhohan Lemos in Sunset Park for possession of a knife when several of the suspect’s family members got involved. One of them was Sandra Amezquita, Lemos’ pregnant mother, who reportedly saw the police confront her son and went to help him. An officer then grabbed hold of Amezquita, put her arms behind her back and steered her to a car. In the video, it appears that the force of him turning her around caused her to fall forward, slamming her stomach onto the pavement. A witness said the officer also used a Taser on the pregnant woman’s belly. The footage shows the same officer then violently shoving another woman to the ground for trying to interfere with Amezquita’s detainment. Amezquita suffered bruises to her arms and stomach and vaginal bleeding. She was also given a summons for disorderly conduct. Her husband, 50-year-old Ronel Lemos, was arrested when he tried to stop the police from hurting the teen, whose face looked badly beaten in photos after the arrest. The subject of the investigation is from the same precinct of the officer caught kicking a street vendor while he was down last week.
