Copa Saprissa por las Mujeres – Liga FEM Football for the prevention of violence against women The Saprissa Foundation -professional football club in Costa Rica- and the Liga FEM of SEPROJOVEN are organising the Copa Saprissa por las Mujeres - Liga FEM, an initiative which takes place in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with the objective to educate and to create awareness in our adolescents about the problem of the violence and the tools to prevent it, using football as a method of convocation and approach. In this spirit, the 15th November 2014 we will realise in the stadium Ricardo Saprissa the First Tournament of the Copa Saprissa por las Mujeres – Liga FEM with the participation of adolescents from the communities of Guarrí, Pavas, Léon XIII, Los Cuadros y Desamparados, where the teams which will play in the Final will be determined. Simoultaneosly, while one part of the girls is playing on the field, the others will participate in a workshop executed by the Fundación Rahab - an organisation fighting against human trafficking-, in which the topic of prevention of violence will be analised. Saturday, 22nd November, previous to the match Saprissa-Heredia, the final of the Copa Saprissa por las Mujeres – Liga FEM will take place. After the award ceremony, the winning team will march in with the team of Deportiva Saprissa during the entering of the field. Furthermore, the women participating will work out public and press messages which will be displayed in the national march of women organises by the ministry of women INAMU, which is a partner of the Liga FEM of SEPROJOVEN.
