Copied When we come into power, anyone who steals Nigerian money will end up in Kirikiri Maximum Prisons. We are going to make sure that Nigeria’s wealth belongs only to Nigerians.” - Buhari These were the very lines of Pa Buhari during the flag-off of his presidential campaign at APC rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday January 6. The statement is very clear and precise, he wants to send alleged corrupt leaders to prison if elected the president, by becoming both the prosecutor and the judge. Therefore, on this anti corruption platform, Pa Buhari has been sold to Nigerians as an incorruptible gentleman with no administrative blemish. He wears integrity as a toga and uprightness as a head dress. But, he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Let us open the cupboard and look at the skeleton. We will use public records not political statements to verify such integrity and upright claims. Nigerians will for sure be surprised that the sauce gentle man who is revered and respected so much so to be sought after was/is neck-deep in the same corruption he wants to fight. A man that procured a loan of N27.5million to purchase his presidential nomination form using man-know-man approach is definitely corrupt. Buhari ought to live by example. He claims that he has no foreign bank account, no booming business, no house in Lagos or Abuja. His only possessions are N1million in a local Bank, 150 Cows and 2 houses: one in Katsina and the other in Kaduna, yet he has been contesting elections since 2003 and pursuing it up to the Supreme Court with his team of SANs. The minimum appearance fee for a SAN at the Presidential election case at the Supreme Court is N25 million. Where did he get this money? Can he tell us his sponsors? He borrowed N27.5 million to buy a form, yet he moves around in chattered aircraft each time he wants to fly which is costlier than owing one. Buhari is definitely a pretender. I never knew that 1million naira, Buhari is claiming to have can feed 150 cows, maintain 2 houses, and pay over 4million naira tuition in UK university for just one of his daughters, Zahra. Buhari declared he had 150 cows in 2007, declared he had 150 cows in 2011 and in 2015 he still declared having the same 150 cows as if the cows are statues or at best gays that cannot reproduce. What nonsense. Shagari incurred Buhari’s wrath when he decided to investigate the US$2.8 billion that disappeared from NNPC account when he was the head of NNPC and was traced to his private account in Midland Bank, London. Firstly, a judicial panel known as Justice Ayo Irikefe panel was set up to trace the $2.8billion. Secondly, a senate committee was also set up to trace the said $2.8billion headed by elder Olusola Saraki. The findings of the senate committee were reported live on NTA by Vera Ifudu. Buhari overthrew the government to burn and shred the evidence. Buhari got Vera Ifudu sacked. Vera Ifudu and the NTA went to court. She won her case, got reinstated and was paid compensation. Similarly, while Buhari was Chairman of PTF, an audit of the Agency found that over 25 billion Naira was missing through the agency. Buhari has never been able to account to Nigerians what happened to the fund. As the chairman of PTF, he concentrated PTF projects in the North. He used the company of his in-law, Ahmad Salihijo, Afri-Projects Consortium as a sole-consult to execute all the projects. Ahmad Salihijo died when the audit committee was constituted, some say he committed suicide to hide the facts, we will never know. But the audit report found many cases of clear over-invoicing and importation of expired products by the agency. He shamelessly executed about 74% of the projects in the north and 26% in the entire south according to PTF Situation Report (Vol 2, 98). When the Buhari regime was kicked out, his head of security, Lawal Rafindadi was found to have operated several personal foreign accounts, and until he died he was still fighting to unfreeze the accounts seized from him. Also,Buhari and his deputy, Tunde Idiagbon made a law for Nigerians, that no one, under 18years should go on pilgrimage to the holy land Mecca but Idiagbon himself was found returning from Hajj with his 14year old son, when they were dethroned. Buhari was aware that Idiagbon went on hajj with his under-aged son. So they made one law for themselves and another for Nigerians. The story of 53 suitcases filled with cash and smuggled into Nigerian border during the exercise of a changeover of the national currency is found unavoidable to mention. At a time when Nigerian borders air, sea and land had been shut tight. In Prof. Wole Soyinkas word, Nothing was supposed to move in or out, not even cattle egrets. Yet a prominent camel was allowed through that needles eye. Not only did Buhari supervised the smuggling through his aide-de-camp, Col Mustapha Jokolo, he ordered the redeployment of the Customs Officer, Atiku Abubaka who later became the vice president of Nigeria because he stood firmly against the entry of the contravening baggage. It is very difficult to understand where APCs confidence lies in offering Nigeria a better alternative after all these farce about Buharis mythical uprightness. That a blind man doesn’t see the sun does not mean the sun is not up in the sky. That Buhari has not been jailed for corrupt practises doesn’t mean he is not corrupt, after-all, nobody has jailed IBB, OBJ, etc. Nigerians deserve to know more about this incorruptible General before the decision day.
