Copied and endorsed! The SSS Spokesperson, Marilyn Ogah said and I quote, We will henceforth apply zero tolerance to those who insult President Goodluck Jonathan. As at the last time I checked, the following are the duties of the SSS according to the relevant sections of the National Security Agency Act of 1986: The State Security Service shall be charged with responsibility for: (a) the prevention and detection within Nigeria of any crime against the internal security of Nigeria; (b) the protection and preservation of all non-military classified matters concerning the internal security of Nigeria; and (c) such other responsibilities affecting internal security within Nigeria as the National Assembly or the President, as the case may be, may deem necessary. How does insulting the President threaten internal security? I expect that President Jonathan would look inward to see the reasons people insult him almost everywhere across the country. I don’t think someone: 1. Whose only daughter or family member has been kidnapped for more than a month without the SSS being able to declare zero tolerance for Boko Haram will live his life without insulting the President and all the people in government… 2. Who has been unable to get justice after his/her only child was bombed by Boko Haram will not howl insults on the President and everybody else in position of power… 3. Whose parents have served the government all their lives only to die while waiting for days on the queue to collect their pension will not insult the president and his governors… I struggled with tears after I saw the video of some of those poor pensioners recently. 4. Who reads about unchecked corruption – missing billions in dollars – everyday will not insult the President and the Senate for declaring that funds are not missing… A northern governor has just lamented that hackers have taken over his mobile phone. I think this is a much worthier assignment for the SSS… The list goes on and on. I hereby announce from the Office of Honorable Minister of Criticism that the SSS should re-direct the Zero Tolerance declaration to Boko Haram, not the aggrieved citizens who are being oppressed by politicians and denied justice every time. They should not add insult/salt to our injury with that Zero Tolerance thing abeg. Good Morning Friends. Thanks, Olusegun. She has had some members of BH in her custody without either been able to get Intel from them or unable to utilise it. Let her face her job and stop gnawing at straws. Rubbish and nonsense joined together.
