Cops lose on booze cruise Posted by: 3AW Breakfast | 9 December, 2014 - 12:27 PM Police RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Off-duty police officers have had their Christmas celebrations cut short when the boat they were partying on was found to be in breach of liquor licensing regulations. ‘Whatever Floats Your Boat’ told the 3AW Breakfast Rumour File that water police boarded a cruise vessel on the Yarra on Friday for a routine check after spotting the party boat floating in and around Docklands. They soon found it was allegedly operating illegally. If things weren’t awkward enough, it was soon established the boat was full of off-duty officers from a suburban station. Police confirmed to 3AW that Divisional Licensing Unit officers checked nine boats on December 5, with seven minor breaches detected. Police found the boat containing the off-duty officers to be in breach of licensing conditions. Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation officers are now working with the boats owners to have the issues rectified. 3aw.au/blogs/3aw-breakfast-blog/cops-lose-on-booze-cruise/20141209-3m511.html
