Coral & Beach Towers Operations Teams show team spirit and camaraderie while paying homage to Atlantis’ 20th Anniversary Decorative displays and informative tours were the order of the day recently in both the Beach and Coral Towers as teams happily competed to pay homage to Atlantis, Paradise Island as the mega-resort property celebrates 20 years in the Bahamian community. “Atlantis – Then, Now, Always” was the theme. Teams from Housekeeping, Bell Services, Front Desk, PBX and RCC all took part in a banner competition illustrating that theme. VP of Operations in the Coral & Beach Towers Kendyce Moss-Moultrie says the idea behind it all is two-fold. “It is our way within our division to make sure that all of our employees have an opportunity to share in the journey of the Atlantis experience. We’re celebrating 20 years in the Bahamian community and this themed banner competition is a part of making it intimate for our individual departments and we’ve seen from similar exercises that it fosters competitive team building and camaraderie... We saw how the teams came together and worked to research the relevant information and they all pulled it off. It was just interesting to see the camaraderie and competitive spirit that exists. Theywere putting their displays together at to the last minute because they didnt want any one else to see what they had done… “The exercise is really about how much we can learn and how we can all benefit from that learning and inculcate that into our working environment to demonstrate that type of passion for what we do as hospitality professionals, so we find it to be a very exciting exercise and we will continue to do it as a means to help our teams showcase learning and growing as a means to develop passionate and committed people.” Various team leaders from around the property were selected to judge the displays based on things like content accuracy and creativity, to name a few. In the end when the scores were all tallied, PBX took first place while second and third place were awarded to RCC and Front Desk respectively. More than 100 persons are said to have been involved in the competition, which allowed for just 14 days to prepare and held true to a strict deadline.
