Corie Holmes, who is running for the Board of County Commissioners, District 2 spoke at the Animal Services Advisory Board on 7-9-14. Read the letter he received from the Secretary of the AAB. Since she signed in her official capacity, it appears she was acting with approval of the AAB. Dear Mr. Holmes, I was appalled by your comments at tonights advisory board meeting. You were so disrespectful of the board and the staff of Animal Services. The board are volunteers that are trying the best we can to make conditions better for animals in our community. We all paid close attention to comments at the meeting, but apparently you were dazzled by Rebecca Neal. I respect Mrs. Neal and I know she is a prominent member of Manatee County, with considerable influence, but your comment was obviously biased. As a candidate for the County Commission I would expect a higher standard. I am going to contact Mike Gallen and actively support his candidacy. I am a democrat and respect his views on many issues. Unlike you, he listens to his conscious and facts, rather then caving to a group of people. If you doubt my influence and my 1000 contacts, speak to Peter Lombardo who ran against my friend Ed Brodsky.
