Corpse of police inspector still missing The Corpse of the retired Police Inspector reportedly buried alive in an evil forest in Edo State, remains missing after four months of well-coordinated search carried out by operatives of zone ‘5’ Police Headquarters, Benin City. The Assistant Inspector – General (AIG) of Police in charge of the zone, Mr. Hashimu Salihi Argungu exclusively told Reporters that the remains of the late retried Police Inspector is yet to be recovered. The AIG vowed that the police would not rest on their oars until the corpse is recovered and other fleeing suspects arrested and made to face the law. He said their collaborators have been remanded in Oko Federal Prison, Benin City, since June. He recall that the victims, Elder Samuel Ekhoruyimwen Ajayi, 82, the Head (Odionwere) of Oghobaghase Community, formerly known as Orogun Camp was on his way to settle a dispute in his domain when he was allegedly waylaid and captured by some youths of Ewudu village, near his community. Both communities are located in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. It was gathered that the youths swiftly took Elder Samuel Ajayi to an evil forest near their community and buried him alive. His sudden disappearance on Friday, May 10, 2013 prompted his children in Benin City to report to the Police who declared him missing after 24 hours of futile efforts to ascertain his whereabouts. Following intelligent reports, undercover agents led by one sergeant (name withheld) of zone ‘5’ Police Headquarters, Benin City apprehended one Osamudiamen Uwaila and six others, including the Chief Priest of Ovia Deity in Ewudu Village, Pa. Stephen Oviawe, 78. Osamudiamen Uwaila during his parade before newsmen last June stated that he and others, including those still at large plotted and killed Elder Ajayi over his role in a dispute between his village Ewudu and Orogun. Pa. Stephen Oviawe admitted to have accompanied the gang, who, sensing danger went and relocated the corpse from the first grave to a yet-to-be identified grave in the evil forest. Efforts to locate the grave through Pa. Stephen Oviawe who led the Police search team to the evil forest, near Ewudu Community failed.
