Corruption Starts Locally As bad as it is at the federal level, - TopicsExpress

Corruption Starts Locally As bad as it is at the federal level, corruption doesn’t start there. It starts locally with elected officials and their henchmen/women stealing your money right under your noses. That’s why I’m always urging all of us to get involved locally. Seek out the slime balls, expose them and try to bring then DOWN. By way of example, here are three local battles I’m in right now. 1. Antique board of school commissioners is using taxpayer money as venture capital to start for-profit businesses and compete with the private sector. In so doing they’ve robbed the local school districts of at least $180 MILLION over the past 10 years. The school districts are screaming for more money, and these criminals are STEALING it from them. We’re on them and have them on the run. 2. Local school district is floating a $1.2 Billion bond issue. But the scum behind it are a rogue’s gallery of twisted individuals. School administrators using school time and money to campaign for the bond. A local chamber of commerce is benefitting from low rent in a taxpayer owned building and campaigning for the bond. All involved are connected with architectural, engineering and construction firms who will get filthy rich from the bond. We’ve just started this mission. But here’s the kicker. Of the $1.2 Billion requested, only 9% is for new schools. The rest is for gadgets and crap that has no business being in a bond issue. 3. The county sheriff’s office and the county attorney are fighting me over my demand for release of records (650 pages PLUS 4 CDs) that could implicate the current sheriff in a major scandal. The Texas Attorney General just stepped in and gave them 5 days to get me the data. (Meanwhile, I’m driving the speed limit and stopping at all red lights—much as it kills me.) Hell, if an old infantry grunt like me can stir up all this crap, any one of you can do the same in your home counties. Get involved. Get curious. DO SOMETHING! Tear ‘em a new one.
