Corruption worsens at Zamtel, emails, phones being monitored at Lamya house July 4, 2013 Dear Admin, I would like to bring to the attention of the Zambian people about the corruption which is getting worse at Zamtel. Please withhold my name for fear of harassment. Since the New Management of Mr Mupanga Mwanakatwe took over, the corruption, incompetence, nepotism and plunder are getting worse everyday. Evans Muhanga, the Marketing Director, who by the way was fired from Airtel for incompetence and corrupt activities, and Mupanga Mwanakatwe, who was also Technical Director for Airtel and was fired for incompetence and corruption, appointed SATCH AND SATCH as advertising using single sourcing. SATCH and SATCH is run by one crook by the name of David Kombe, who is related to Mupanga Mwanakatwe and a close friend of Evans Muhanga. David Kombe is paid more than $100,000 every month as retainer fee. This money is split between David Kombe, Evans Muhanga and Mupanga Mwanakatwe. The question why are we paying this money every month for very poor marketing services. You can see for yourself the quality of Zamtel adverts now compared to the time before Mupanga took over. We are now a laughing sock in the industry. We are worse than before privatization. Our performance is very poor. Our subscriber numbers have drastically dropped and our revenue keeps dropping and Mupanga has failed to take actions because he know Evens and Lhozinda know his dirty corrupt hands. I challenge Mupanga to publish the financials for all to see. By the way, Mupanga knows that the Board is full of incompetent people hence they inflat numbers to look good during board meetings. This is bad Corporate Governance Mr Mupanga. I challenge the board to procure the services of proper forensic auditors and they see what I’m talking about. Mupanga is a lazy, ignorant and incompetent spoled boy who doesn’t know what he is doing and he is leading the company into the ditch. We are better off with Clive Chirwa than Mupanga. That’s how bad it is. Dear Editor, also warn your readers that they use Zamtel at their own risk. The PF OP has established a full time department based at Zamtel whose full time job is to listern in to phone calls and read people’s emails. I personally don’t use Zamtel for my personal phone calls and I don’t even use Zamtel Internet despite being an employee. Moreover, they have constructed a dedicated optic fibre running from Lamya house to red brick for the purpose of spying on citizens. They have also installed equipment a Lamay in order to monitor people blogging on a site like yours and also blocking watchdog. This is also affecting all the other internet service providers who are using Zamtel as a currier and service provider. Also the CODEX which interconnects all ISP is based at Lamya and this has given OP access to all the ISP in Zambia. Zambia is under threat.
