Cost is a major factor in college choice, research has confirmed - TopicsExpress

Cost is a major factor in college choice, research has confirmed and reconfirmed that through years. The other factor that is not being discussed in this article is that students often apply to what they know or hear about. There may be a school that is a good fit, financial and otherwise, that is not close by but if students are never exposed it will never reach their radar. Why should it be left up to students to do vast searches? There must be more communication between higher ed and high school college/career counselors about various options for institutions. Also, many colleges begin to contact students based on PSAT test taking. How many schools are doing a mandatory widespread administering of that test in 10th grade? Or are we just selecting a small group of students to do so? Just questions and thoughts.
