Costa Rica Day # 2 Captains Log: 1) BREAKFAST: I ate fruits!!! I never eat fruits...I had a piece of watermelon, pineapple & papaya...and I liked it. =) Also had, Hot Chocolate, Mango Pancakes, Croissant French Toast & an Omelette...Pineapple Muffin & a Beef Empanada...now thats a breakfast!! 2) BEACH: Honestly I never knew Costa Rica had such amazing beaches...you have a bit of jungle, with amazing caramel or black sand, blue waters and rock formations on the water (small little tiny islands). 3) HORSES: So I had my first horse ride EVER!!! Ok, maybe when I was 7 I rode a horse on my grandparents farm in Puerto Rico...but then again, I really didnt ride the horse...someone directed it...I vaguely remember the experience...but this time I was in charge. I discovered that I was a natural on the horse...lol. I used all of my dance whisperer moves and they all translate well to horse whisperer: Gentle But Firm! The horse did everything I wanted it to do. It was amazing to ride on the beach, in the water, on the sand, and into the mini-jungle to chase the monkeys! Yes, we went monkey watching while on horses on the beach...lol. 4) MONKEYS: Saw about 10 monkeys in a 5 minute span as we rode on the horses through the mini-jungle next to the ocean....lol. Took photos and videos..ing soon. My Hotel/Resort is surrounded by a mini-jungle as well...and there are three types of monkeys on the premises =) 5) SLOTHS: I met a girl on the bus who said shes been living in Costa Rica for 6 months and hadnt seen a sloth in the wild yet. I saw one on my 2nd day...lol. Am I lucky...no! Is it a coincidence that I am always at the right spot at the right time...no! Then what? Well, simple...Its all by design. I have learned that there are experts in everything (wisdom guides). If youre ever lost in a Latin Nightclub and you find me, ask me anything about the music the dance, where should you stand to get more dances, where to sit if you dont want anybody to bother you...I HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS. So, just like me, there are experts in everything. I looked for a local, Costa Rican Sloth Tracking Expert...lol. Just the guy working at the beach with the parasailing troupe. I asked him where I can find a sloth and he said there was one right on the beach and he took me to three trees. We spent just 2 minutes on each tree...Third ones a charm!! Third Tree had the sloth. She was way up there, I got her on video...but its not too clear. Ill publish the video soon. Today I published a clear photo of a sloth I saw on the third day (today)...its my current cover shot. 6) IGUANAS: Hotel has an abundance of Black & Green Iguanas...I run into them as I go from the room to the restaurant, to the lobby, etc. I saw about 4 on day 2. 7) PARASAILING: MY FIRST TIME!! Basically, you have a parachute attached to your back and a speed boat attached to your front. This formula has an end result of you flying through the air =) It was super serene. I experienced the silence that the birds live in. Saw the planet from a birds eye view. The ocean below me, the beach, and other animals. Made eye contact with another bird mid-flight and saw birds fly into the water to feed on fish. Flying was a lot of fun..will definitely do it again! 8) SUNSET: Day # 2 Sunset was just as majestic as Day # 1...I will post photos and videos soon...I promise...just being in the now...so I have to experience a few more things before I make time to post videos and photos (I have a rain-forest massage scheduled in a few minutes) =) 9) DINNER: Of course after a full day of activities, one works an appetite...what can go better with dinner than a Live Bachata & Salsa Band...I dont think anything...lol. Dinner was Delicious and the music was my cherry on top! Plantain & Coconut Crusted Mahi-Mahi, Seafood & Tomato Risotto...Yummy 10) DESSERT: Passionfruit Cheesecake with Pineapple Topping à la mode, of course!! p.s. - I used to never eat fruits, hated going to the beach, was scared of riding horses, could care less of looking for monkeys/sloths/iguanas, uninterested in parasailing or watching sunsets...so what changed? I WAS MERELY EXISTING...NOW IM LIVING!!!
