Costa do Sauipe set for Final Draw Sand dunes, palm trees, lagoons, rivers, the diversity of the Atlantic Forest and the Atlantic Ocean lying adjacent next to it. This is the setting for the Costa do Sauipe in the Brazilian state of Bahia, widely venerated as a dream holiday location. However, on 6 December 2013, this tourist hotspot on the Bahia coastline, 76km from Salvador, will host an event that will give 32 people plenty to worry about. We are speaking, of course, about the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ Final Draw and its impact on the coaches of the 32 qualifying national sides. The draw will take place at 13.00 local time and, from that moment on, with teams knowing who their adversaries and groups are, it will be a time not only for coaches and players, but for the millions of anxious fans located in all corners of the world – to start the guesswork, fill in the tables, and dream of victory. “On this day, Planet Football will have its eyes trained on Bahia’s Costa do Sauipe, FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke wrote in one of his columns, with preparations for the tournament ongoing. The group draw is in itself an event, with television audiences in the hundreds of millions around the entire world, the same number we see for a FIFA World Cup match.” And FIFA will provide complete coverage of not only of the Final Draw, but of everything happening on the Costa do Sauipe in the days leading up to the event. In addition to reporting every detail of the event in real-time, our coverage will also be packed with exclusive interviews with key figures from world football, group analysis and our already-customary space for interaction with those online. Stay tuned: 6 December is the day the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil takes shape!
