Could we end up with snow in Columbus after all?? This is going to be a close call!!! FOR WEATHER GEEKS ONLY: Two new computer modes just coming in now showing more snow than ice. The ECMWF (EURO) is holding strong to the idea of snow in Columbus. You can see the snowfall amounts on the first map. The second map is the HRRR which is a high resolution model that updates hourly. Well keep an eye on this model and how the precipitation moves into the area over the next few hours. Bottom line.... The biggest impact will still be in the ICE STORM WARNING area where 1/2 inch of ice is possible. This could cause tree damage and scattered power outages from Hillsboro to Chillicothe to Logan. As for us in Columbus... Im telling you right now, we could see a huge difference from all snow in the northern suburbs to a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain on the south side. Ill be here tracking it all night!
