Council Member-Elect Carlos Menchaca visits CPC to meet with community leaders and residents. Carlos expresses his gratitude to the Chinese-American community for our support to his campaign. During his speech, Carlos reiterates the importance of community participation on the Participatory Budgeting (PB) process. PB process allows community leaders and residents to bring issues like public safety and community infrastructure improvement to the table and the possible solutions will be discussed through the process. Carlos also promises to make his office more open and easier to access to the public. He also will fulfill his promise of hiring a Chinese-speaking community liaison, for the convenience of the Chinese American community. At last, he encourages our community members and leaders to apply for joining Community Board 7 to help elected officials understand the needs of our Chinese-American community.
