Council approves £155 million regeneration scheme Ealing borough council has approved A £155 million regeneration scheme and works are set to be underway. According to reports, housing association A2Dominion and regeneration specialist Rydon has been granted planning permission for the construction of 187 homes in the borough. The plans are part of a second redevelopment works taking place on the Green Man Lane estates. Development works on the estate includes three apartment buildings, as well as 28 affordable three-storey houses. David Price, A2Dominion regeneration director, stated that this planning consent signals a new major milestone in the development of the Green Man Lane estate. He goes on to say that with the first phase nearing completion, this regeneration works has began to transform this run-down 1970s estate and the council is more than pleased to be able to progress to the next level in being able to provide even more quality and affordable housing. The wider scope of the scheme gained its approval back in 2010 which will see around 700 new homes built across four phases along with a community café, enterprise units, green spaces and play areas. The first stage is yet to be completed and is projected to start sometime next year with the building of 176 homes. Apart from the regeneration works, Ealing council is also supporting National Empty Properties Week, a movement which see them urging owners of empty properties to get them back in use.
