Council at its meeting held on 24 June 2013 endorsed a revised Statutory Code of Practice – Access to Council and Committee Meetings and Documents 1.1.06 and the community now have an opportunity to comment of the draft Code (to download a copy please click link below). The amendments within the Code relate to a Model Code released by the Local Government Association which incorporates the findings from the Ombudsman’s Audit ‘Report In the Public Eye’. For easy identification, proposed deletions have been highlighted using struckthrough text and additions using white text with a black background. Submissions can be made to Council by 4pm on 30 July 2013, but only formal submissions made in writing to Mrs Lee Heron – Director – City & Cultural Services, Port Augusta City Council, 4 Mackay Street, Port Augusta or via email at [email protected] will be considered by Council as part of the public consultation process. Comments on Facebook will not be considered formal submissions.
