Council will undertake road rehabilitation works on sections of Braidwood Road in May to coincide with proposed road works at HMAS Albatross. Sections of Braidwood Road have experienced rapid deterioration as a result of the significantly increased number of construction vehicles using the area to access the current development at the Navy base. With limits on the amount of heavy vehicle traffic utilising new pavement, the works are unable to be undertaken until a gap in the project timeline was identified. Council has worked with the Navy’s construction contractor to program the reconstruction works in May, coinciding with proposed roadworks by that contractor to provide a new entry to the base.
