***Counsellor, God, Father and Prince - Why?*** I know Im asking this a lot, but I need to do it again; Although this msg might seem a bit lengthy, plze stick with it, Im sure ull find it quite interesting and maybe learn some, like I did when I studied these two verses frm the Book of Isaiah. Isaiah 9:6-7 (nkjv) For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called [Wonderful, Counselor], [Mighty God], [Everlasting Father], [Prince of Peace]. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end,... Ive boxed in [] these four names which Isaiah used to describe the Messiah, because they have special meaning to us, and we gonna look at them. In Biblical times giving a name to a child were serious business. Names were mostly picked because of the meaning of the name. So when we read a name in the Bible it wornd picked because it sounded cool (which is the case in many instances in modern society) - It actually hand a Meaning. In Isaiah Jesus is called; 1) Wonderful Counselor - Why? Because He is exceptional, distinguished, and without peer. One whos able to rightly identify the problem at hand... who gives the right advise. Yip, we all need counselling day-by-day, and thats exactly the kind of counsellor I want, thats why I chose JESUS!! 2) Mighty God - Why? Because He IS God himself!! In the Word we read that Jesus is the manifestation of the Godhead to humanity. For in Him [Jesus] dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily [in a human body]; and you are complete in Him [Christ], who is the head of all principality and power. [He is the Lord over every ruler and authority in the universe] Col 2:9 (nkjv), and 1 Tim 3:16 echo this. That is my God [Christ Jesus], do u know Him? 3) Everlasting Father - Why? Because He is timeless; He is our Father - Now that brings us to the understanding of the Trinity. Scripture state as a fact that there is One God, manifested in three distinct and separate persons, or should it rather be personalities for easier understanding; Father, Son, and Spirit. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit and the Spirit is not the Father, but they are all One God!! Confused? Dont be... Jesus is our Everlasting Father because He brings us to Spiritual Life. John 14:6 makes this very clear, actually Crystal Clear. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Now Ill say, Ill rather go for a Savior who is our Everlasting Father (the Three in One), who is very much ALIVE, and dwells in and among us, than a DEAD stand alone idol!! 4) Prince of Peace - Why? Well this one is no rocket science. His government is one of justice and peace. Jesus Christ is our Only source of True and Everlasting Peace, and I think I need only quote one Script, namely John 14:27 (nkjv) Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Im telling u Ill swap todays government in a wink for Jesus governing, a government who can actually administer that kind of peace must be pretty awesome!!
