Count your blessings. Im in dunkin donuts crying. Because I dropped my daughter with Autism and Mental Illness off for a Saturday program she desperately needs. Theres a mother here with 3 little ones under the age of 6. They are all sitting and not running around which is very impressive. They are all verbal and doing what they are suppose to. The 2 oldest one got into a small sibling battle, nothing crazy. The mom says to the oldest you are being really annoying today and you are getting nothing from me for the rest of the day stop being manipulative! The girl cries...(I cried) And the mom says you did this to yourself stop with your tears and get your act together and then she continued to yell and just be agitated by her children and huff and puff. Was the little girl in the wrong...absolutely...the bigger picture this woman has so much to be thankful for...listen having 3 kids is a challenge...and parents lose their patience. But to talk to your child like that...just hurts me. I am not judging the woman because I dont know her life or her story and I have no right to judge her. She could be very well having a bad day. She probably is an amazing mother and I just saw a tiny piece of a bad day. I know so many people who would be so happy if their children spoke...were able to walk...feed themselves...be potty trained and much more simple life skills. It pains me to see so many people take what they have for granted. Ive been there and I have taken things for granted. I do not take my daughter for granted no matter where we are in our journey and development. I just wish that some can see past their lives and really realize what they have and enjoy it because everything can change in a second.
