Taking a look at their SECOND Top 40 hit, a mathematical formula using peak position, weeks at peak, weeks in Top 40 and bonus points for 3 or more Top 40 hits was used. #146. ‘Til Tuesday…critically, Aimee Mann’s iconic band could do no wrong; however, other than the #8 smash, “Voices Carry”, for which the band is best known, American audiences barely took notice. Great tunes like “Love in a Vacuum”, “Coming Up Close” and “(Believed You Were) Lucky” only received acclaim on MTV, not at the cash register. The bands second and final Top 40 would be the atmospheric “What About Love” which peaked at #26 in the winter of 1986. Aimee Mann has never stopped working doing voice-over work as well as earning Grammy and Academy Award nominations for her music talents.
