Countess Elizabeth Bathory de Esced, the Blood Countess, died - TopicsExpress

Countess Elizabeth Bathory de Esced, the Blood Countess, died around 400 years ago today (399 to be exact). She is considered the most prolific female serial killer in history. If the legends are true, she would be the most prolific serial killer in history without regard to gender. She was the woman who was rumored to bathe in the blood of female virgins in an attempt to retain her youth. Being of the nobility, she was not executed, but was instead immured, which is she was sealed in a set of rooms, where a slot for food to be slid through was supplied as well as a few slots for ventilation. Otherwise, the rooms were completely sealed off from humanity. She lived that way for four years.
