County Officials are HIGHLY Recommending everyone to stay off of the Roads in order for the Salt Trucks to do their jobs. They are also warning if you get stuck you many be there for a while as the 911 calls are in overload with emergencies! Looks like schools will be out again tomorrow. Coweta County ROADS-DAY TWO-ADDITIONAL INFO We have had over one hundred accidents. The actual number of vehicles involved is higher because when public safety arrived to a one call, there were 5 or 6 involved in reality and crews were helping everyone. Our fire department alone ran over 57 calls. No major injuries with any other accidents. Roads are still in poor condition. We have over 1200 roads in the County and our Road DEPARTMENT crews continue to work as quickly as physically possible. We are currently looking at bringing in additional equipment to assist in spreading salts and abrasives. We are HIGHLY Recommending that everyone stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary !!!! City and County road crews have been out all night working on putting down sand and salt. The sun will assist temporarily by adding about 10 degrees to the road surface from radiant heating, however, it will be tomorrow afternoon before we begin to see any significant improvements and any melting that is not evaporated will refreeze tonight as temps go back into the teens. The City of Senoia - downtown streets and Rockaway Road are in very poor condition. Remember, the county Road Department is working on primary county maintained roads. State and US routes are maintained by other entities.
