Couple From Guam Marries April 24, 2014 by jan@simplidone Yesterday was the wedding day for a couple that flew all the way from the tropical island of Guam to get married in beautiful Washington State. This was a special delight for me to be their wedding Officiant since I was married on Guam and their arrival was like a little bit of homecoming for me! Valerie and Rebecca are a delightful and devoted couple. They were married in my home with my mother and a neighbor serving as witnesses. We had a wonderful time sitting and talking with them after the ceremony. Valerie and Rebecca met each other six years ago and have been inseparable since. They are raising a family of five children, which, along with them both working, keeps them busy! For their ceremony, a love poem written by a poet from Guam was read. WIND by Bruno Simmons The winds of time after so long, have finally blown in my favor. After so long, lost and adrift, to your shore I find comfort. White sand beaches, the water lapping, placid and warm. Tossed and floundering, the currents have placed me away from the storm’s harm. In your arms, the dream made real, the sun brings new disposition. As posed to an aching soul, all’s a compete transposition. Your words so lovely, your beauty way beyond a face. You’ve taken my hand and showed me love; my sadness is erased. Guiding winds oh so favorable, you must be a Godsend. Guiding winds, I thank you heaven for this lover and a friend. After a honeymoon in Seattle and San Diego, Valerie and Rebecca will return home to their tropical paradise.
