Couple dead from apparent murder-suicide Initial medical examiner findings released Wednesday morning on the married couple found dead Tuesday morning in the Dunnellon area indicated a murder-suicide incident. According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), Christeen Ervin, 68, was reported to have shot her husband, 65-year-old Gerald Lee Ervin, before turning the gun on herself. Sheriff’s deputies discovered the couple’s bodies when responding to a shooting incident at 6679 North Percale Terrace in the Mini Farms area at around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday. There is not enough evidence to determine if Gerald Ervin did or did not resist being shot, according to the CCSO.
